Aaj TIFRAC ko purey 60saal hochuke hai. TIFRAC (Tata Institute of Fundamental Research Automatic Calculator) pehle digital computer hai jo Mumbai ke Tata Institute of Fundamental Research me develop hua tha. Shuruvaat me TIFR naam ke Pilot Machine ko 1950 me develope kiya gaya tha. Final machine ka development 1955 me hua and 1960 me TIFRAC formally commissioned hua. India ke pehle digital computer ka naam Jawahar Lal Nehru dwara diya gaya tha.
TIFRAC Ki Banavat Aur Storage
TIFRAC ki main assembly jisme vaccum tubes the 18 feet x 2.5 feet x 8 feet ke measurement ki steel rack pe rakha gaya tha. Ye 4 feet x 2.5 feet x 8 feet module se banaya gaya tha. Each module ke circut tak pahuchne ke liye dono taraf steel doors banaaye gaye the. TIFRAC me 2,700 vaccum tubes, 1,700 germanium diodes and 12500 resistors hai. Isme 2,048 40-bit words hai ferrite core memory ke.
Ye machine bahut early adopter hai ferrite core memory ka. Ek cathode ray tube display system ko graphs and alpha-numeric symbols dono ke analog aur digital display ke liye computer ke helper output ke roop me work karne ke liye develop kiya gaya tha.
Ek manual console input/output control unit ki tarah kaam karta hai. TIFRAC ke software ko 0 and 1 ke commands ki series me likha gaya tha.
HEC 2M COMPUTER
Ek British dwara built HEC 2M computer, India me pehla compiter tha, jise 1955 me Indian Statistical Institute, Kolkata me import and establish kiya gaya tha. Prior to that, is institution ne 1953 me ek chhota Analog Computer develop kiya tha, jo ki technically India ka first computer tha.
