BYJU’S Ne Kharida Aakash $1 Billion Ki Deal Me

Edtech company Byju’s ne monday ko confirm kiya hai acquisition of education institution Aakash Educational Services Ltd (AESL), because vo boost karna chahta hai uski test preparation segment and add karna chahta hai omnichannel capabilities to both entities.

Ye cash and stock deal close kari gayi thi almost $1 billion me last week, ye deal one of the most expensive deals in India hai in edtech space, 2 jun ke hisab se jinko merger ki direct knowledge hai .

AESL function karega independently acquistion ke baad me with founders ke sath J.C. Chaudhry and Aakash Chaudhry jo ki continue karenge to lead the entity.

Pichley saal rival Unacademy ne banaye they almost six acquisitions in test prep space, jabki Amazon India ne entry kari thi segment Amazon Academy ke sath.

Aakash ki method of teaching in the test prep segment dekhegi ek integration Byju’s content and tech capabilities ke sath.

“Partnership ka pura idea hai taki students kahi par bhi learn kar sake, kabhi bhi learn kar sake and kisi bhi platform par learn kar sake. Jab hum together put karte hai ek larger ecosystem Byju’s ke sath, akash business aise hi continue run karega, hum apna physical classroom centres ko expand karenge and depper jaye into tier-2 and tier-3 locations,”said Aakash Chaudhry, managing director, AESL.

Akash ke pass aprox 200 physical learning centres hai across 130 cities, jo serve karte hai about 150,000 students- ek small part jo Chaudhry estimate kiya hai joi ki market comprising hai 2.5 million students likh rahe hai medical and IIT entrance examinations every year.
