Environment Day: World Environment Day 5th June ko manaya jata hai to observe and spread awareness about the issues related to environment jo humari planet earth face kar rahi hai. Iss saal UN launch karne jaa rahi hai the UN Decade on Ecosystem Restoration. Aur is saal global host ke taur par Pakistan ko chuna gaya hai.
World Environment Day duniya ke one of the biggest celebrated events mein se aek hai. Iss din ko 1974 se manaya jata hai aur iss din ko “Peoples Day” ke naam se bhi jaana jata hai so that we can take care of the earth and our nature.
Who kehte hi na “ Tum abhi nature ko bachao, aur baad mein nature tumhe bachayega.” Aek healthy life jeene ke liye nature bohot hi important role playe karta hai. Humari basic necessities jaise food, air etc hume nature hi provide karte hai. But piche kai saalo se hum insaan humare khud ke fayde ke liye mother nature ko humare convenience ke hisaab se exploit kar rahe hai.
Kisine bohot sahi kaha hai ki humans and animals mein sirf itna farak hota hai ki animals change themselves for the environment, but humans change the environment for themselves.
World Environment Day 2021 Theme:
2021 ke liye UN ne “Ecosystem Restoration” theme decide kiya hai. Iss theme mein UN ne logo ko growing trees, greening cities, rewilding gardens, changing diets or cleaning up rivers and coasts jaise cheeze karne ko kaha hai thaaki hum apne city or surrounding ko better kar sake. Aur yeh sab promote karne ke liye UN ne iss saal ka global host Pakistan ko chuna hai. Last year yaani 2020 ka theme UN ne “Celebrate Biodiversity” rakha gaya tha.
Iss din ko carbon neutrality, reducing greenhouse effects, focusing on forest management, planting on degraded lands, energy production through solar sources, promoting coral reefs and mangroves, developing new drainage system etc ke liye bhi celebrate kiya jaata hai.
Plastic: A Big Threat To Nature!
Aek study ke according 6.3 billion tonnes of plastic waste abhi tak poori duniya mein generate hua hai. Aur yeh plastic agle 500 saal ke liye decompose nahi hone wala hai. Scientists ka kehna hai ki yeh micro plastic humare soil, drinking water aur toh aur hum joh air breathe karte hai usme bhi aa chuka hai!
Toh aaiye iss World Environment Day 2021 ko hum decide kare ki hum humare mother earth ko save karenge by planting more and more trees and jitna ho sake using less of plastic items.
