Karnataka Minister for Kannada, Culture and Forest Aravind Limbavali said “I have instructed officials to send a legal notice to Google for showing such an answer to that kind of a question. Kannada language has a history of its own, having come into existence as many as 2,500 years ago. The language has been the pride of Kannadigas through the ages.”
Uske baad unhone twitter par lejakar bhi Google se aek apology ki demand ki. Unhone demand ki ke Google should apologize to the Kannada language and also to the people of Karnataka. Unhone google par yeh daawa lagaya hai ki ugliest language of India ke search par Kannada batana Kannadigas ke pride ka insult hai. Aur jald se jald Google se apology demand ki hai or else legal action will be taken against Google for maligning the image of Kannada language.
How Did Google React?
Google ne turant hi iss matter par act kiya aur Karnataka government aur unke officials se maafi bhi maangi. Google ne apne apology mein maafi mangte hue kaha ki the search isn’t always perfect. Sometimes, the way content is described on the internet can yield surprising results to specific queries. Google ka yeh bhi kehna tha ki yeh saare search results unke opinions nahi hai aur internet kabhi kabhi surprising results deta hai.
Google also tweeted that “We know this is not ideal, but we take swift corrective action when we are made aware of an issue and are continually working to improve our algorithms.”
Karnataka ke state minister ke alawa former chief minister of Karnataka HD Kumaraswamy ne bhi google ko iss matter par criticize kiya tha and asked for an apology from Google.
