Calcutta High Court ne Thursday ko Covid-19 pandemic ke beech pollution pe rok lagane ke liye Kali Puja, Chhath and Kartik Puja par firecrackers ke use karne par aur sale karne par ban kar diya. Lawyer Savyasachi Chattopadhyay ne kaha “The High Court upheld the petition about banning use and sale of firecrackers. We wanted the court to extend its Durga Puja-related directives to upcoming Kali Puja, Jagaddhatri Puja, Chhath and Kartik Puja. Prevent people from crowding in this pandemic,”

On Wednesday, Sikkim government ne firecrackers pe complete ban kar diya. However, sabhi state mein COVID-19 ke situation ko dekhte hue, PTI reported. However, Chief Secretary S C Gupta Disaaster Management Act, 2005, ke tahat ek order issue kiya, further orders aane tak firecrackers pe complete ban rhega. Unhone kaha ki active patients kam ho rhe hai or jada se jada patients infection se recover ho rahe hai. The increase in air pollution due to the bursting of firecrackers may prove hazardous for the recovered as well as the active patients.
